opendms is a community designed to offer automotive, agricultural, haulage and heavy equipment dealers access to an open source, freeware and shareware project to conceptualize, design and develop dealer valued IT solutions using the latest in cloud-based systems and services and to offer the core of this system to the members of the community at little or no charge.

Design
Dealers drive the process. Join the community and become involved in establishing the direction opendms products and services should take
Customize
Using an industry standard distributed version control system, every community member has a working copy of the code and full change history at their behest. Missing a feature? Build it then share it; or sell it. The choice is yours
Share and Benefit
At the core of any open source endeavour is the concept of sharing. If a community member creates a component for opendms they are free to share it or commercialize though the opendms market
Philosophy
opendms works for the betterment of dealers; it is not looking to profit. In fact, it's goal is for the opendms core, except for a monthly membership, to be free

opendms has a vision where dealers can adopt the opendms core offering and value add it with third-party products and services and tap into a pool of experts for support
Policy
we are more than happy for third-party providers, dealer developers and product experts to work to expand the product at both the community level and commercially
